When can my child be enrolled?
Your child can be enrolled at any time. Usually the enrollment process is very simple and very fast. When you are ready we are ready. There is always someone at the facility to accept your child.
What if my child doesn't want to go?
We will accept students at the request of their parents, in other words they do not have to be willing to come, and very rarely will they be asked to leave the school. We also have transport services available to pick your child up from home if he is unwilling to go on his own.
How long is the program?
To get the best results the program length is generally 9-12 months. That is usually determined by his attitude and how he is progressing in the program.
How often can I contact my child?
You can call your child on a weekly basis and you can leave messages for him whenever you want on our website.
How often can I visit my son?
You can visit your son as often as you want but remember that it is hard for him to adjust every time you leave.
Is Tipton Academy a licensed facility?
Yes. We are licensed from the State of Kansas as a Residential Facility for Children and Youth.We are constantly working to stay within state regulations.
What is the student to staff ratio?
The student to staff ratio at Tipton Academy is 1 staff to 7 students during the day and 1 staff to 10 students at night.
Can my child run away from Tipton Academy?
While it is possible for a person to run from a facility, run possibilities are minimized by our 24 hour supervision, the remote location of our school, and our security camera's.
Can my son continue his education and catch up if he is behind?
Yes. Academics are obtained from the local school district via computer, and he can accelerate if he wishes to do so. All students will maintain at least a B average.
